Hey guys,
Summer Camp was very fun! The services were okay but not as good as was expected, USUALLY we had alter calls this time we had two or three. Other than not having alter calls I liked it! I am really glad I got to hang out with some Reedsville people for a week!
I didn't get to spend very much time with any of the guys because they were around all the other girls at Summer Camp. Out of all the activities my favorite was Magic Mountain and Laser Bowling. I also loved trying to get to the pool table first at free time! I love pool even though I'm not the best in the world! I met a bunch more people this year than last year! My sister and I roomed with Terra and Jenna and that was a BUNCH OF FUN! Terra was always dancing which was hilarious! On Thursday night we were supposed to go swimming but we got rained out so we ended up going to the movies to watch the movie CARS, it was a cute movie!
Sunday , my cousin , Cory Sargent left for BOOT CAMP! Everybody pray for him please, when he gets an address maybe we can give it to you, so you guys can send him some letters! You know how much you would like to know what was going in yer home town if you were going to be gone for 13 weeks, and the only way he is able to know what is going on around here is letters. Sunday night, Chelse had to leave and I miss her already!
Sunday morning Michael Hupp and his sister Michelle taught class! They taught us about worshipping and praising God! I think that ever since we left the church at Reedsville, I haven't felt comfortable to worship God. But Sunday morning I learned that I shouldn't care what other people think and just raise my hands and surrender everything to God. I also learned that the teens and the children have the most power in a church, and whatever we do will touch the adults in a way that we don't even understand. I found some verses that I really like and I wanted to share them with you all:
He who digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit he has made. The trouble he causes recoils on himself; his violence comes down on his own head ~PSALMS 7: 15-16~
I will exalt you, O Lord,
for you lifted me out of the depths
and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
O Lord my God, I called to you for help
and you healed me.
O Lord, you brought me up from the grave;
you spared me from going down into the pit.
Sing to the Lord, you saints of his;
praise his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may remain for a night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.
When I felt secure, I said,
"I will never be shaken."
O Lord, when you favored me,
you made my mountain stand firm;
but when you hid your face,
I was dismayed.
To you, O Lord, I called;
to the Lord I cried for mercy:
What gain is there in my destruction,
in my going down in the pit?
Will the dust praise you?
Will it proclaim your faithfulness?
Hear; O Lord, and be merciful to me;
O Lord, be my help."
You turned my wailing into dancing;
you removed my sackcloth and
clothed me with joy,
that my heart may sing to you and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever. ~PSALMS 30~
Love ya all, Cortney
